remember, your skin in the largest ORGAN, yes organ, in your body. take care of it! here are some easy tips to keep skin looking and feeling healthy and beautiful.
* H2O!!!!! drink lots of water! you skin is comprised of 90% water!
just to list a few of the many jobs it does:
-it carries nutrients to every cell,
-removes toxins and waste,
-keeps your skin looking refreshed and clear.
---> 8 8-10oz glasses a day and more if you can!
* remove your makeup before washing your face!
-sounds like a no-brainer, right? well, a lot of women do not do this. you don't shower with your clothes on. same concept for your face. remove your makeup, then wash so you can get deep down into the pores.
* exfoliate!
- no matter what your skin type, you should use light exfoliation everyday. this doesn't mean a harsh scrub, this could be as simple as washing with a washcloth or using a scrub for your skin type. don't over do it. just enough to remove dead skin and keep it from clogging your pores or looking flaky.
* moisturizer!
- same thing as above: find the right kind for your skin type. you made need a heavier cream for very dry skin or something light and oil free is you have oily skin. you should moisturize morning and night after you wash your face to maintain skin's natural oil and water balance. don't forget an SPF! at least a 15, everyday.
* don't touch breakouts!
- the hardest thing ever is not to touch a breakout out. but if you can resist, you are increasing it's healing time. squeezing or popping them will allow bacteria from your skin, nails and fingers, as well as makeup, into the opening, which can make it last twice as long and twice as painful! ouch!
* sunscreen!
- everyday. at least an SPF 15 under your makeup
*get some sleep!
- ZZZZZzzzzz allow your body to rejuvenate! especially your skin. you can see the difference between someone who's tired and someone who's well rested! get some shut eye! at least 6-8 hrs a night.
these are just a few but the ones I live by and think are the most important! enjoy!
