tips for amazing skin!

remember, your skin in the largest ORGAN, yes organ, in your body. take care of it! here are some easy tips to keep skin looking and feeling healthy and beautiful.

* H2O!!!!! drink lots of water! you skin is comprised of 90% water!
just to list a few of the many jobs it does:
-it carries nutrients to every cell,
-removes toxins and waste,
-keeps your skin looking refreshed and clear.
---> 8 8-10oz glasses a day and more if you can!

* remove your makeup before washing your face!
-sounds like a no-brainer, right? well, a lot of women do not do this. you don't shower with your clothes on. same concept for your face. remove your makeup, then wash so you can get deep down into the pores.

* exfoliate!
- no matter what your skin type, you should use light exfoliation everyday. this doesn't mean a harsh scrub, this could be as simple as washing with a washcloth or using a scrub for your skin type. don't over do it. just enough to remove dead skin and keep it from clogging your pores or looking flaky.

* moisturizer!
- same thing as above: find the right kind for your skin type. you made need a heavier cream for very dry skin or something light and oil free is you have oily skin. you should moisturize morning and night after you wash your face to maintain skin's natural oil and water balance. don't forget an SPF! at least a 15, everyday.

* don't touch breakouts!
- the hardest thing ever is not to touch a breakout out. but if you can resist, you are increasing it's healing time. squeezing or popping them will allow bacteria from your skin, nails and fingers, as well as makeup, into the opening, which can make it last twice as long and twice as painful! ouch!

* sunscreen!
- everyday. at least an SPF 15 under your makeup

*get some sleep!
- ZZZZZzzzzz allow your body to rejuvenate! especially your skin. you can see the difference between someone who's tired and someone who's well rested! get some shut eye! at least 6-8 hrs a night.

these are just a few but the ones I live by and think are the most important! enjoy!

favorite moisturizer

this facial moisturizer has been my favorite for the past year. i have really dry skin, especially now that winter is here and this leaves my skin so soft, never greasy. super moisturizing with anti-aging properties and the day time formula contains an SPF 15. i love Clinique's skin care products because they are fragrance free and allergy tested. i have never broken out from them. i wear the 'dry combination' formula in the warmer months and the 'very dry to dry' formula in the colder months in both the day and night creams. they are $48 a piece but well worth it. a little goes a long way! invest in good skin care. you deserve it!

Clinique Youth Surge Age Decelerating Moisturizers (Day & Night Formula)

amazing product for dry hair!

i live in michigan where we have been having below 0 temps on a regular basis. and lots of snow and ice and wind! brrrrr. winters are pretty harsh here. i have naturally curly hair, which is dry as it is, so when this weather rolls around, it makes my hair even worse! but!! i just discovered a really great product for winter months to protect and nourish dry hair. i have a few leave in conditioners but i wanted something a little bit heavier for winter. so after looking through all of the hair products at meijer, i came across this in the section for black and african american hair.

it's called 'optimum oil therapy 3-in-1 creme oil moisturizer' by softsheen-carson

this contains coconut, olive, avocado, and jojoba oils. helps prevent dryness and breakage, provides moisture and shine, even protects from heat damage! comes out white and has the consistency of sunscreen. looks like it too. i put this in the bottom half of my hair when i get out of the shower. you can apply it to dry hair as well and it doesn't leave any greasy build-up. if you have very thin or limp hair, this may be too heavy for your hair. $4 for 9.7 oz. so it's really affordable! love it!

welcome!

thanks for stopping by and checking out my blog. my first time blogging!! ahhh!!  i am going to be doing makeup reviews, favorite/least favorite products, skincare, health and beauty tips, haircare, fitness, etc. just whatever pops in my head, i guess! if you have any ideas or topics, let me know! hope you find all of this helpful! enjoy!
